I need to add a toolbox to my Matlab Student version. I know that I have to download the toolbox files, place them in some directory and then specify a path.However, I am not quite sure about where I have to place my files.

DescriptionAdds symbolic calculation features to GNU Octave. These include common Computer Algebra System tools such as algebraic operations, calculus, equation solving, Fourier and Laplace transforms, variable precision arithmetic and other features. Compatibility with other symbolic toolboxes is intended.


Symbolic Math Toolbox also includes the MuPAD language, which is optimized for handling and operating on symbolic math expressions. It provides libraries of MuPAD functions in common mathematical areas, such as calculus and linear algebra, as well as specialized areas, such as number theory and combinatorics. You can extend the built-in functionality by writing custom symbolic functions and libraries in the MuPAD language. All functions can be accessed from the MATLAB command line or from the MuPAD notebook interface, where you can manage and document your symbolic computations.

Euler Math Toolbox is a numerical and symbolic math toolbox. Symbolic computation are done by working with Euler's native capabilities and also in conjunction with a seamlessly integrated version of Maxima computer algebra system. Euler Math Toolbox can also be used with LaTeX and Python (integration instructions). Euler Math Toolbox also supports the capabilities of using the built in C compiler (Tiny C) to run C code for important mathematical routines where high performances are required.The program is developed by a math professor (Rene Grothmann) at the University of Eichstätt in Germany. Nerdamer is a small and light-weight symbolic math expression evaluator written in javaScript. The parsing is done purely in javascript and uses no server-side program whatsoever. It can export to a pure javascript function, ideal for filtering user input.


The Symbolic Math Toolbox software provides a set of tools for symbolic computing that augments the numeric capabilities of MATLAB. To declare variables as symbolic objects use the syms command. You can then manipulate the symbolic objects according to the usual rules of mathematics.
